About Me.

A Bit of A Renaissance Man...

I was born with a chainsaw in one hand and a calculator in the other.  My kids say it was an ax and an abacus.  Either way, I have a wide range of interests and my greatest passion is learning new things.

I grew up learning about mechanics from my dad.  Uncle Bob gave me a love for all things to do with woodworking and my mother taught me about cooking, sewing, and running a house.  As for all the rest of life's challenges?  Well, hold my drink while I Google how to do this.  I've learned a little bit about a lot of things and I'm looking forward to sharing that knowledge.

What would life be without a little magic and a few miracles.  I have blessed with three amazing daughters, a crazy wife, and five pounds of attitude know as Lola the Poodle.  We have a chaotic but wonderful life filled with escape rooms, travel, geocaches, and laundry.  Lots of laundry!

My hope is that this site will be an inspiration and resource for others.  So welcome to my page and in the spirit of our family motto… "lower your expectations."  Oh wait, not that one. The other one, "let's get ridiculous."

Who Am I

Software Developer

I am a Full Stack web & application developer with over two decades of experience in many different industries.  I am passionate about building solutions to help others and have created software for clients ranging from individuals and small businesses to Fortune 500 corporations.

Writer

I share my experiences on my blog to connect with others. I have decided to try my hand at writing a novel because I want to share the joy I get when escaping in a good book. Working on my writing skills is an everyday exercise and I hope you will come along for the journey.

Tinkerer

I love to understand how things work which has led me into several hobbies such as beer brewing, wood working, electrical, plumbing, engine repair, 3D printing, and playing the ukulele.

Explorer

In an effort to balance my workdays sitting behind a keyboard, I try to spend a fair amount of time outdoors and unplugged. I love hiking and backpacking and am a big fan of hammock camping.
